The fourth and most enduringly popular novel in the late Terry Pratchett’s glorious Discworld series is brought to life marvellously in this adaptation. It stars Carl Prekopp as Mort and Geoffrey Whitehead as Death, and as a further feather in its cap, it’s brilliantly narrated by Anton Lesser, who is currently also to be found doing generally evil things in the hit HBO TV series Game of Thrones. This classic dramatisation happily does justice to Pratchett’s idiosyncratic sense of humour and rich fantasy world.
