Playtech shrugs off new rules

THE boss of online gaming company Playtech insisted he welcomed new regulation yesterday as the company increased profits.

The industry is facing rise in regulation that could see more rules and taxes im- posed. But Playtech boss Mor Weizer said that he was confident his company could continue to prosper.

The firm announced 78pc rise in pre-tax profits to €91.3m (£83.9m) for the first half of the year.
