Morning-after pill by air

- By Katie Morley

THE morning-after pill and Viagra could be delivered by drone, after a trial flying “embarrassing” drugs to patients proved successful.

Some women and teenage girls have been deterred from buying morning-after pills at pharmacies because they are quizzed about their sex life as part of a consultation. A trial-run saw a pill delivered in Broadstairs, Kent, under controlled conditions. Now bosses at Medexpress are in talks with the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency to roll out the service widely.

Dwayne D’souza, Medexpress’s managing director, said: “We’re considering making drone delivery part of our future service.”
