Mickey singer sues Disney and South Park

-

♦ The one-hit-wonder singer of Eighties pop classic Mickey is suing Disney for using the song without her permission to sell T-shirts.

American Toni Basil wants at least $750 (£580) for every time her voice, name or image were used without consent over three decades, according to a lawsuit lodged on Thursday.

Basil, now 73, is suing Disney over the use of her song to promote a line of clothing, the makers of cartoon series South Park, whom she claims used Mickey to parody Barack Obama, and a host of other companies over their uses of the worldwide hit.
