Drag-racing car sprays burning fuel into crowd

A car doing burnouts at a drag-racing competition in Australia ignited fuel on the track which sprayed on to spectators, setting one man alight and leaving 13 others injured.

The incident occurred at the Red Centrenats festival – an “Ultimate Festival of Wheels” – in Alice Springs.

Dramatic footage taken by spectators showed flames flashing out as the fuel ignited and poured across the crowd. Twelve people were taken to hospital.
