Balsamic invasion

sir – Back in June, you gave excellent coverage of the threat caused by the invasive plant Himalayan balsam.

Now I am amazed to see it flourishing prettily on the M6 embankments to the north of Preston.

Is Highways England happy to let it spread? Does the Environment Agency approve? Do local farmers know what is spreading to their land? Jim Anderson
