Happy ending: A love story fit for Hollywood royalty

Am I alone in musing that a five-year, no-public-dating divorce clause would have put paid to the new series of Doctor Foster? Perish the thought. Let’s just be glad that among his other flaws, philandering ex-husband Simon isn’t an A-list Scientologist film star.

Having said that, I am ridiculously happy to see Tom Cruise’s former wife, Katie Holmes, finally out and about with her dashing squeeze, 49-year-old actor Jamie Foxx.

To be honest, all those motherdaughter paparazzi shots of Katie, 38, and her 11-year-old daughter, Suri, out for a postprandial ice cream, or shopping, were starting to look a bit lovelorn.

But now I can rest happy knowing she has a chap on her arm – and they are still at the holding hands, gazing and smiling stage.

Would it be wrong of me to want a baby, too? It would be so sweet if, after everything, they had a little boy. We’re expecting another royal birth. Wouldn’t it be a happy ending if Hollywood aristocracy were to follow suit?
