sir – The proposal to ban the sale of houses that don’t conform to certain insulation standards (report, September 7) ignores the fact that it is illegal to instal double glazing in listed buildings. I write from my own 400-year-old Grade II listed property, with an open fire drawing air through old, leaky single-glazed windows. M S Crowe
