Acid attack gang hunted after mugging man, 49

A teenage girl is among four people being sought for a suspected acid attack during a mugging. A 49-yearold man suffered burns to his face and eyes when four youths threw an unknown corrosive substance at him.

The victim was kicked and punched before the gang threw the liquid. The group, three males and a female aged 17 to 19, left on foot taking his mobile phone and wallet. Police were called to the incident on Hawkshead Street in Southport, Merseyside, around 9.35pm last night. Officers administered first aid before the victim was taken to hospital. His condition is described as stable.
