Dear old Blowers
SIR – In his Corbyn-like assessment of the life and career of Henry Blofeld (Final Whistle, September 13), what Jonathan Liew overlooks is Blofeld’s cricketing pedigree: a schoolboy prodigy stymied by injury; a Cambridge Blue in spite of this with a first-class century at Lord’s; and an author of insightful cricket books, not least his definitive account of the Packer affair.
His retirement represents a great loss for the game.
