Friday Night Is Music Night: BBC Proms 2017 – A Celebration of Stax

Another chance to hear the vivid celebration of Memphis record label Stax Records from the Royal Albert Hall, presented with characteristic showmanship by Jools Holland. Booker T Jones, William Bell and Sam Moore contribute their musical wares along with special guests and Stax fans Beverley Knight, James Morrison and Tom Jones, all showing off incredible voices and musicianship. Two classics not to miss are (Sittin’ On) The Dock of the Bay and Soul Man, 50 years after its release.
