Actor Harry Dean Stanton dies at 91

Harry Dean Stanton, the actor best known for his roles in Godfather II, Alien and Cool Hand Luke has died in Los Angeles, aged 91.

He was catapulted to fame when he was given a lead role in Paris, Texas by Wim Wenders, a film which was awarded the Palme d’or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1984. His other credits include Twin Peaks, Pretty in Pink and Repo Man.
