Let there be light ... just not too much
VILLAGERS who campaigned for better street lights are complaining that the models are too bright.
Residents in Wargrave, Berks, close to the Prime Minister’s constituency home in Sonning, say the new LED street lights cast too fierce a glare, and want them turned down.
Families say their children will not go to sleep because their bedrooms are “lit up like Blackpool illuminations”. A flood of complaints has been made to Wokingham borough council, which intends to replace all of its street lights with LEDS.
The Wargrave parish clerk, Stephen Hedges, promised the lights would be “turned down”.
