Whiskery awakening
SIR – Chris James (Letters, September 26) describes how his cat sits on the table waiting to be served food from the weekly Sainsbury’s shop.
Our cat, at seven on the dot each morning, jumps on the door handle, opens the door, leaps on the bed and licks our eyes until one of us gets up and feeds him. Jacqueline Mccrindle

SIR – In my early schooldays, a cat – which belonged to neighbours further up the street – always appeared on the dot of midday waiting for me to come home from school for lunch.
It did not do this at weekends. Sheena Etherington
