‘Happy now’: Prescott opens up about bulimia

-

John Prescott has revealed he is finally happy with the way he looks after opening up about his bulimia battle.

The former deputy prime minister first revealed that the stress of political life left him with an eating disorder in 2008, but he is only now happy with the way he looks at the age of 79.

He began suffering from bulimia in the 1980s while in Labour’s shadow cabinet. But in an interview with the Hull Daily Mail ahead of World Mental Health Day, he said: “When you’re approaching 80 you’re not too concerned about how you look in photos or on camera. I’m happy now.”
