Holy smoke

Against the backdrop of Durham Cathedral, the LNER A1 steam engine ‘Tornado’ makes stately progress. Passengers aboard the Tyne Tees Express were on a return trip from Derby to Newcastle. The Tornado was built in Darlington in 2008 and was the first steam locomotive to be built in Britain since 1960.
