Limit firework nights for the sake of the dogs

sir – Am I the only one who feels that fireworks should only be sold for organised events held on the weekends each side of November 5?

For two nights I have been subjected to a steady stream of bangs and flashes. They were still going off at 11.30pm. My two dogs suffer, shaking and worrying. This nightly disturbance will clearly continue for a fortnight.

It is time fireworks were confined to a few nights each year. At least I could sedate the dogs if necessary. Lesley Wells
