Heir to the throne

Olivia Colman is to play the Queen in the third and fourth seasons of The Crown. The 43-yearold Broadchurch star will take over from Claire Foy, who won a Golden Globe for playing Her Majesty in the early years of her reign, and is expected to be seen in the role from 2019. Colman, pictured in the ITV period drama The Suspicions of Mr Whicher, will portray the Queen in the period from the mid-sixties to the mid-eighties.
