Tullow stung by failed South America project

Tullow took a 2.41pc hit to its share price yesterday, after it was forced to abandon an ambitious oil project off the coast of Suriname in South America. It came after it failed to make an economic discovery. It admitted that it was plugging and abandoning the Araku-1 well as it did not hold oil which could prove to be commercial.
