William hits out at social media impact on the young
CHILDREN are facing “considerable” pressure and are being “tested more than ever”, the Duke of Cambridge has said.
Speaking at a gala in aid of the Children’s Trust and Skillforce, he criticised the impact of social media on young people’s confidence and self-esteem.
He said: “The pressure on young people these days is considerable. Children are tested more than ever before and are being prepared to enter a highly competitive work market. On top of this, there is a sense of being ‘on call’ 24/7 through social media. It can all take its toll.”
The event at the Roundhouse in north London, marked the launch of the Prince William Award, aimed at helping children aged six to 14 develop their confidence.
