Se­nate can­di­date ‘banned from mall for bad­ger­ing teenage girls’

ROY MOORE, the Repub­li­can Se­nate can­di­date, was banned from an Alabama shop­ping cen­tre for re­peat­edly bad­ger­ing teenage girls, it has been claimed.

Mr Moore, 70, is un­der mount­ing pres­sure to quit the elec­tion race af­ter a se­ries of his­toric al­le­ga­tions by five women who said Mr Moore in­ap­pro­pri­ately touched them while they were teenagers in the Eight­ies. In the lat­est re­ports, po­lit­i­cal fig­ures and po­lice of­fi­cers claimed Mr Moore was banned from Gads­den mall be­cause he pestered teenage girls. Po­lice of­fi­cers told the New Yorker “Moore’s pres­ence at the mall was re­garded as a prob­lem”.

Judge Moore, the for­mer chief jus­tice of Alabama Supreme Court, has come un­der pres­sure to quit. He has re­jected the al­le­ga­tions made against him but ad­mit­ted dat­ing teenage girls, adding he never did so with­out the per­mis­sion of the girls’ moth­ers.
