Testing the water

HMS Queen Elizabeth, the Royal Navy’s new aircraft carrier, off Portland in Dorset as it carries out sea trials in the English Channel. The 920ft, 69,500-ton carrier, which cost £3billion to build, will be Britain’s biggest and most powerful warship, and will be formally commissioned by the Queen on a visit to Portsmouth next month.
