Protests over outgoing university chief ’s pay
Protests have been held by students at the University of Bath over the retirement of their vice-chancellor.
Hundreds marched in protest over plans to allow Prof Dame Glynis Breakwell to remain on full salary until formally leaving in February 2019.
Dame Glynis announced her resignation on Wednesday after a row about her salary of £468,000.
Slogans carried read: “Education not remuneration” and “Biscuits don’t grow on trees”, a reference to a reported expense claim made by Dame Glynis for a £2 pack of biscuits.
