Officer ‘played games’ in rape CCTV review
A police officer faces a misconduct hearing accused of playing computer games while reviewing vital CCTV footage in a rape case.
The officer allegedly claimed he had viewed all the footage but later enquiries revealed he had failed to spot the alleged victim and two suspects.
Humberside Police’s professional standards board claims the unnamed officer went through the footage at “inappropriately high speed”. The force said: “This had the potential for vital CCTV” evidence to be missed.
The officer faces three allegations of misconduct in 2015 at a hearing in Beverley Police Station on Tuesday.
