Pub ban for Christmas jumpers

-

 A pub landlord has banned customers from wearing Christmas jumpers in the evening as they are too “raucous”.

Alan Murphy, who runs two bars in Hull, is turning away patrons in the jumpers or fancy dress from 8pm.

He has put up signs telling those wearing festive clothes they are not welcome during the evening because it spoils the candlelit atmosphere.

Mr Murphy said: “There is something about dressing up which makes people act differently. These groups are usually on a pub crawl and aren’t really bothered which ones they go into. If they see they can’t enter our pub they will just move on.”
