FUTURE OF PALESTINE.
Yesterday, in the House of Commons, Mr. Lynch asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs “whether, in regard to the future disposition of Palestine, he had kept in mind the century-long interests of France in that region; and whether, in all the steps hitherto taken, and in the promises made, such as that of the restoration of the Jews to Jerusalem, he was acting in complete accord with the representatives of the French Republic.” Mr. Balfour, in reply, said the hon. member need be under no misapprehension. In their policy in regard to Palestine the Government would take into the fullest consideration the claims of their Allies, with whom they were working in the fullest accord.
