Burkas ‘are difficult for us’
Wearing a burka is like wearing a balaclava as it makes people feel “uncomfortable”, the Government’s former integration tsar has said.
Dame Louise Casey, whose review of integration came out in 2016, told the BBC’S Panorama show: “People dressed head to foot in black, and we can’t see their faces, is just difficult for us as a culture. When that’s happening at significant volume, we’re uncomfortable with it.
“If a man walked in here in a balaclava, I’d be uncomfortable with it.” Her review also found worrying levels of segregation and social exclusion.
