London mayor applies for judicial review on Worboys

SADIQ KHAN has launched an applica- tion for judicial review into the release of John Worboys, the black cab rapist.

Mr Khan said he would fight to put the “safety of Londoners and the needs of victims first”. The Mayor of London was joined by two of Worboys’ victims, who also formally lodged an application yesterday for a judicial review into the Parole Board’s decision.

Harriet Wistrich, their lawyer, said the evidence she intended to hand to police “includes two unreported cases from 2002 and 2003 and two cases that were investigated by the police that would pass the evidential threshold but have not been prosecuted”.
