Five French soldiers die as helicopters collide
Five people were killed yesterday after two army training Gazelle helicopters crashed into each other in southern France, police said.
The collision took place at around 8.30am local time yesterday near Carcès lake, 30 miles north-west of the resort of Saint-tropez.
“The helicopters collided. There were three army personnel in one and two in the other. All are dead,” police said. Rescuers at the thickly-wooded crash site have recovered the bodies.
