Pakistan court convicts 31 for student lynching

One man was sentenced to death and 30 others imprisoned for the campus lynching of a student who was falsely accused of blasphemy in Pakistan.

A court in the northweste­rn Khyber Pakhtunkhw­a province acquitted 26 other suspects in the murder of Mashal Khan, 23, last year.

He was attacked and killed by a mob after a dormitory debate on religion. The 57 suspects indicted included students, teachers and officials of Abdul Wali Khan University.
