Software can spot propaganda uploaded by Isil

Software that can detect Isil propaganda and stop it from spreading online has been developed by the Home Office.

Ministers claim it detects 94 per cent of Isil propaganda with 99.9 per cent accuracy, which means that if one million videos selected at random were analysed, just 50 would need to be subjected to human review.

The software has effectively been “trained” using more than 1,000 Isil videos so that it can spot tell-tale terrorist signs.
