Murder trial juror calls for emotional support
Jurors should be given emotional support and counselling, a woman who sat through the trial of the killers of 16-year-old Becky Watts has said.
The woman, named only as Rebecca, told ITV News that she was exposed to “very harrowing details, some very gruesome and distressing photos, texts, conversations, videos”.
“I think the Crown Prosecution has a responsibility to the people who are delivering a service for them,” she said.
Nathan Matthews, Becky’s stepbrother, is serving 33 years in prison for the 2015 murder. Shauna Hoare, his girlfriend, was also convicted of manslaughter and conspiracy to kidnap.
