Renowned harpist jailed for sexually abusing boy

The abuse victim of a world-renowned harpist told a court that “silence is a paedophile’s best friend” as she was jailed for nearly five years.

Danielle Perrett, 59, took the virginity of the 14-year-old victim in her London flat and abused him in a shower and in a van, a court heard. She assaulted him after her ex-partner Richard Barton-wood, 68, took him to watch her play at a hotel in 1984.

Perrett and Barton-wood were both jailed for four years and nine months.
