Intimidation claims rock Labour
ONE of Jeremy Corbyn’s senior advisers was at the centre of bullying allegations last night, linked to the departure of the shadow work and pensions secretary.
Debbie Abrahams, who was asked to step down over the weekend, is making a formal complaint about her treatment at the hands of the leader’s office over bullying allegations made against her.
Ms Abrahams, who pledged to fight the allegations against her, described her own treatment by “certain individuals” as “aggressive” and “intimidating”. She is believed to be referring to Karie Murphy, Mr Corbyn’s office manager.
Labour did not comment on the record about the allegations, but sources said it had not received any formal complaints and allegations of bullying by Ms Murphy were strongly denied. Ms Abrahams declined to give any further comment.
