Man remanded over car driven into nightclub

A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a car was driven into a group of people outside a Gravesend nightclub.

Mohammed Abdul is accused of driving a Suzuki Vitara deliberately into Blake’s nightclub in Queen Street, on Saturday, injuring 13 people. He had allegedly been kicked out of the club before the incident, police said.

Mr Abdul, of Mcmillan Street, London, did not enter a plea and spoke only to confirm his details when he appeared by video link at a short hearing at Medway magistrates’ court yesterday. He was remanded in custody and will next appear before Maidstone Crown Court on April 16.
