Turn left for Middle Earth and Didcot

 A series of mysterious road signs directing motorists to places such as Middle Earth, Neverland and Gotham City have been branded a distraction.

The signs, which appeared at roundabouts in Didcot, Oxon, have been branded “amusing” but “dangerous” by Oxfordshire County Council.

“We will investigate as soon as the weather improves,” a council spokesman said. “While on the surface amusing, it is vandalism and a potential distraction for drivers.”

Local residents said they had seen “a hooded man in his 20s” modifying the signs last week. Others signs point to Narnia and the Emerald City.
