Steinhoff directors get extra pay after scandal
Steinhoff expects to hand directors one-off cash sums, citing the “exceptional demands” placed on them during the period since financial irregularities were discovered in its accounts, and for “additional work”. The head of Steinhoff ’s audit and risk committee, Steve Booysen, and two of the supervisory board’s independent committee, Heather Sonn and Johan van Zyl, are being handed payments of between €100,000 and €200,000. It comes almost four months after shares in the group plunged after the irregularities were disclosed.
