Life of the Party

SIR – In the Sixties, my future husband thought that what constituted a good party was going in with a Watneys Party Four (Letters, March 24) and leaving with a Party Seven and a date.

He gatecrashed my 21st birthday party, did not bring me a birthday present and has never been forgiven – even after celebrating our golden wedding anniversary. Polly Hurlow
