Student died just two weeks after her throat felt sore

When 18-year-old college student Ann Struthers first noticed that her throat was feeling sore, she thought nothing of it.

However, she quickly developed pneumonia, and then sepsis and doctors on the Isle of Man were unable to kill the resistant bacteria. Despite trying 11 different antibiotic­s in seven combinatio­ns, Ann died, just two weeks after first noticing symptoms.
