Graduate raps her way to job interview

-

A JOB hunter who posted a rap-style job application has been flooded with offers after struggling to find work after university.

Anastasia Glover, 21, who graduated with a 2:1 in filmmaking from the Manchester School of Art last year, rapped about sending CVS and emails, and failing to secure interviews.

Her lyrics included lines such as: “Man’s goin’ jobcentre, signing on the dole, recruitment company ’aven’t got man a role. Sending bare email and getting no response, CV probably only been looked at once.”

After sharing her video, Miss Glover, from Ashbourne, Derbyshire, caught the eye of Steve Thompson, a recruitment firm boss. He shared the video on professional social media site Linkedin, where it has already had more than 100,000 views, and Miss Glover has now had half a dozen offers from businesses.

She told the Manchester Evening News: “I found Steve on Linkedin and really wanted to catch his eye by doing something a little bit different.

“To be honest, since leaving university in July I’ve been sending my CV here, there and everywhere and getting nowhere.

“Businesses want experience but it’s really hard to get that experience when you’ve just graduated.”
