A sheep and its lambs cross a snow-covered field near Nenthead, Cumbria, despite spring having officially sprung. Further snow is expected to affect the long Easter weekend for much of Wales, the Midlands, north-west England and Scotland. The unseasonably cold weather has also been having an adverse effect on swans across the country, which have been injuring themselves after mistaking rain-lashed roads for streams.
