Barbara Bush, former First Lady, dies aged 92

Barbara Bush, the former US First Lady and one of the only women to see both her husband and son sworn in as US presidents, died in the early hours of this morning, her family revealed.

Mrs Bush, who was 92, was the wife of President George HW Bush and the mother of George W Bush. It comes after her family revealed on Sunday that she was in failing health and had decided not to seek further medical treatment for congestive heart failure.

She was being cared for at her home in Houston, Texas, at the time of her death.
