Michael Caine’s celebrated Sixties caper about an elaborate heist no more needed to be remade than The Beatles’

Revolver needs to be re-recorded – and the cast here is an odd mishmash of serious stars (Charlize Theron, Ed Norton) and mediocrities (Jason Statham, Mark Wahlberg). Still, it’s not as feeble as might be expected, with some strong performances – and the car chases are zippy.
