Self-driving cars not safe ‘in the wild’
Self-driving cars are not safe, as their engineers cannot predict how they will behave “in the wild”, a British expert in artificial intelligence has warned. Demis Hassabis, co-founder of the AI specialist Deepmind, urged caution despite his own position as a leading researcher into the technology. “If we are going to have self-driving cars, well maybe we should test them before putting them on the road … Is that responsible, really?”
