US university to pay $500m to abuse victims

Sex abuse victims of Dr Larry Nassar, the disgraced US doctor, and Michigan State University have reached a tentative settlement in which victims will be paid $500million (£370million), attorneys said.

Nassar, who worked as a doctor for the USA Gymnastics federation and also ran a campus clinic at Michigan State, earlier this year received two jail sentences of up to 125 years and up to 175 years after hundreds of women told of his decades of sexual abuse.
