Comcast threatens Murdoch’s Disney deal

Comcast threw Rupert Murdoch a challenge as the US media giant announced it was “in advanced stages of preparing” to upset the tycoon’s deal with Disney. Mr Murdoch’s 21st Century Fox last year agreed to sell its film and television studios, its pay-tv operations including its stake in Sky, and a clutch of other assets, to Disney. But Comcast said its bid would be “at least as favourable to Fox shareholders as the Disney offer”.
