Home ownership increases for first time in 15 years
HOME ownership has risen for the first time in 15 years, according to new statistics released by the Government.
The proportion of homes in owner occupation increased steadily from the Eighties to 2002, peaking at 69.5per cent of the nation’s housing stock.
Home ownership levels have been in decline since then, bottoming out at 62.4per cent in 2015 and 2016.
However, the latest statistics released by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government show there was an slight increase in 2017 as ownership increased to 62.9 per cent in 2017.
