Wonderful walking where water goes uphill

-

sir – It was with interest and not a little satisfaction that I read the report “GPS prescribe canal walks” (May 23).

Having been brought up by the seaside I wished for water of some kind to be the backdrop of our daily walk, and thus it was that we discovered the joy of walking the Caen Hill flight of locks at Devizes.

Here we take in the views, birds and canal boats, then round off a pleasant hour with a delicious drink at the delightful canal café.
