Jilted boyfriend sent nude shots of his ex to film firm boss in US

- By Francesca Marshall

A JILTED ex-boyfriend sent naked pictures of his former partner to her film company boss in California, a court has heard.

Philip Simpson, 57, persuaded his then girlfriend to pose explicitly during a Facetime video call, but unbeknown to her he screen-shotted the images which he would later go on to send to her boss.

The court heard the victim had been reluctant to pose nude, but Simpson said to her “if you love me you’ll do it”.

After capturing the images of the woman’s genitals, they were then sent to her boss, who was a friend of the victim. The couple were at the time in a long-distance relationship, with the victim living in California and Simpson residing in west London.

James Dick, prosecuting, told Isleworth Crown Court: “Her friend received a message from the defendant which said words to the effect, ‘childish but guess the worker’, but identifying her place of work.”

Mr Dick said the victim had no knowledge the screenshots had been taken until she was told by her friend.

The victim had flown over from the US to give evidence, but Simpson pleaded guilty to sending the photographs.

Simpson was sentenced to five months in jail, suspended for two years, given a five-year restraining order, ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and must pay £2,400 in costs.
