Boy, 14, is charged with knife murder

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a man knifed to death on the streets of Chelsea.

The teenager – who cannot be named because of his age – was arrested yesterday over the death of Mark Fontaine, 41, who was fatally stabbed on the evening of May 31.

Police and paramedics were called at around 10.20pm following reports of a stabbing on Cathcart Road.

Mr Fontaine, of Walthamstow, died at the scene just after 11pm.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as multiple stab wounds. The defendant appeared at Highbury magistrates’ court yesterday and remains in custody.
